Membership
AFSC® offers various levels of membership, primarily Student Member and Professional Member:
- Associate Member
- Student Member
- Professional Member
- Accredited Feng Shui Consultant AFSC®
- Accredited Feng Shui Master AFSC®
- Honorary Member
- Honorary Life Member
AFSC® also offers membership to those corporations servicing the Feng Shui industry:
Applicants must satisfy the Association that they possess the requirements to become a member and ALL membership levels of the AFSC® must sign the Code of Ethics.

From time to time, as the AFSC® sees fit, the Committee may appoint the title of Honorary Life Member, or Honorary Member.
An Honorary Life Member is an AFSC® member who has shown exemplary service to the AFSC® and/or the Feng Shui industry as a whole, is awarded the title and given life membership of the AFSC®.
Honorary Life Members have shown a high level of service and are therefore considered an asset to the AFSC® and are given a free lifetime membership for their services rendered. An Honorary Life Member has special mention on the website, in the newsletter and to all AFSC® members as a person of note by the AFSC®. They may use the title after their name: Hon Life Mem AFSC®.

An AFSC® member who has rendered some exceptional service to the AFSC® for which the AFSC® is extremely grateful, and demonstrated a high level of contribution to the AFSC® may be awarded the title of Honorary Member and given free membership status for one year by the committee.
AFSC® Committee Members who have actively shown great service to the AFSC® over the course of the year are awarded the status of Honorary Member for the year after each full year term of office on the committee in recognition of their service to the AFSC®, at the discretion of the President.
Winners of AFSC® Excellence Awards in specific categories and other special prizewinners are also eligible for Honorary Member status.
Honorary Members are given special mention on the website, in the newsletter and to all members as a person of note by the AFSC®.
Honorary Members and Honorary Life Members are voting members of the AFSC® and have access to the Members Area.

Accredited Feng Shui Master AFSC®

An Accredited Feng Shui Consultant AFSC® who has participated in the CPD programme for minimum 12 months and been active in the industry as a Feng Shui consultant for a minimum of 10 years is eligible to apply for the status of Accredited Feng Shui Master AFSC®. This is the highest level of membership and the applicant must sit a written and oral examination with the Board of Examiners.
Application fee is a non-refundable $688. If the applicant passes the examination they are awarded the prestigious title Accredited Feng Shui Master AFSC®. Should the applicant fail the examination, they will be allowed to re-sit another two times with no fee owing.
They are official voting members of the AFSC® and have access to the Members Area.
They may use the title, Accredited Feng Shui Master AFSC® or Accredited Feng Shui Master & Professional Member AFSC®. This is a lifetime title, provided they remain a Professional Member of the AFSC®.
Accredited Feng Shui Masters AFSC® are listed by name in the List of AFSC® Members, in the dedicated list of Accredited Feng Shui Masters AFSC® and by priority listing in the Members Contact List.
Accredited Feng Shui Consultant AFSC®

A Professional Member who has made a commitment to an advanced level of Feng Shui study and is participating in the AFSC®'s programme of Continuing Professional Development. It is important that they must be practising a style of Traditional Feng Shui to qualify as this is the path to Higher Learning.
Applicants should have at least three (3) years professional experience consulting in Feng Shui and a minimum of 50 consultations (paid or unpaid). (AFSC® reserves the right to ask for details of clients and dates at any time during or after the application process).
The role of Accredited Feng Shui Consultant AFSC® has certain benefits and responsibilities. The CPD Programme ensures the member is undertaking continuous training and development to enhance their skills annually.
Application fee for Professional Members to upgrade to Accredited Feng Shui Consultant AFSC® is AUD$100 (non-refundable). Annual fee is AUD$68 (Once accredited, also continues to pay the annual Professional Membership fee of AUD$98).
They are official voting members of the AFSC® and have access to the Members Area.
They may use the title, Accredited Feng Shui Consultant AFSC® or Accredited Feng Shui Consultant & Professional Member AFSC®.
Accredited Feng Shui Consultants AFSC® are listed in the List of AFSC® Members, the dedicated Accredited Feng Shui Consultants AFSC® list and the Members Contact List and have priority listing at the top of the list. They are regarded as senior members of the association and invited to educate, mentor and encourage Associate, Student and Professional Members.
An additional $26 per year per region applies for listings in another region.

Professional Members are Feng Shui Consultants who have completed their course of study and are now active in the industry and offering Feng Shui consultations and seeing clients. All types and modalities of Feng Shui schools are accepted. They are officially voting members of the AFSC® and have access to the Members Area.
They may practice all styles of Feng Shui such as:
- Form School
- Ba Gua School
- Ba Zhai School (8 House)
- Flying Star School
- Xuan Kong Da Gua
- Qi Men Dun Jia
- various San He and San Yuan methods
- other schools of Feng Shui not listed here
- and may also practise Western Geomancy, Chinese Astrology, Building Biology, Space Clearing/Sacred Space, Vastu Shastra but should primarily be a Feng Shui consultant.
Please note that the level of experience between members can vary tremendously so we highly recommend you confirm this with the individual consultant. Remember to ask questions so that you feel comfortable with the consultant you choose.
New Professional Members pay a non-refundable application fee of AUD$100 and an annual fee of AUD$98 from the date on which they join. If a Professional Member allows their membership to lapse and then wishes to re-apply for membership the $100 application fee applies again.
They may use the title, Professional Member AFSC® after their name.
Professional Members are listed by name in the List of AFSC® Members and also in the Members Contact List and must sign and abide by the AFSC®'s Code of Ethics. Professional Members are also eligible to be listed as the Practitioner of the Day.
An additional $26 per year per region applies for listings in another region.

Student/Trainee Members are FREE!! The requirement for membership is proof that the student is currently undertaking a course of study to become a professional Feng Shui consultant. The student, or trainee level is designed to give Feng Shui students access to the support, activities and benefits of the Association and to encourage them to join as a Professional Member once they are qualified, so they may continue to achieve high standards. The requirements are:
- An interest in Feng Shui
- Applicants are undertaking Feng Shui studies of sufficient quality with a Feng Shui Training Institute to gain membership of the AFSC® (the Training Institute needs to be an AFSC® recognised Training Institute; if not, AFSC® will contact them during the application process).
Student Members are listed by name in the List of AFSC® Members.
Student Members are NOT officially voting members of the Association and do not have voting rights. They are generally expected to complete sufficient training within two years to upgrade to the Professional Member level. The Student Member has access to the Members Area.
Should the student complete their training and upgrade their membership within two years of joining they will not incur the AUD$100 joining fee to become a Professional Member and are only required to pay AUD$98.00 annual membership.

AFSC® appreciates there are many people with an interest in Feng Shui or who are practising other subjects who also have an interest in Feng Shui, so we wish to extend you membership of the Association to further your Feng Shui skills.
Such members may include Professionals such as Interior Designers, Architects, or Builders, or may be those practicing Building Biology, Vastu Shastra, Professional Organising or Astrology; or you may simply be a member of the public looking to further your Feng Shui education.
Associate Members pay a non-refundable joining fee of AUD$100 and an annual fee of AUD$26, which gives unlimited access to member services including the Association's Members Area where you may read, listen and view many presentations on Feng Shui from AFSC® and affiliated organisation members over the years. You also have access to the AFSC® Member's Forum where you may research and ask questions to members about Feng Shui. Later, you may decide to study Feng Shui professionally.
Associate Members are listed by name in the List of AFSC® Members.
Associate Members are NOT officially voting members of the Association and do not have voting rights.
Corporate Member
A corporation involved in Feng Shui Consulting, a Training Institute and/or a supplier of Feng Shui related products may join under the following criteria. They are not official voting members of the AFSC® and do not have access to the Members Area.
In addition to having a listing on the AFSC® website, Feng Shui consultants who represent the Corporate Member may join the AFSC® so as to advertise their courses to members via our website, online forums and groups. Alternatively, the Corporate Member may advertise in the AFSC® newsletter, conference, meetings and other avenues as they arise:

Feng Shui Training Institute - An organisation offering Feng Shui training. The AFSC® recognises that Training Institutes are important for the growth of the industry because they provide the skills required of a competent Feng Shui Consultant.
Therefore, if the Training Institute is offering Feng Shui related training as part of their syllabus, their membership of the AFSC® is FREE, provided they can refer 10 new Student or Professional Members to the AFSC® every year.
Students who attend Corporate Member: Training Institute courses will gain higher recognition from the Association. In fact, in order to qualify for issuance of CPD Points, the Training Institute must be recognised by the AFSC® first.
AFSC® Members who teach Feng Shui courses are invited to have a FREE second listing in this membership level under their Training Institute's business name provided for this second listing they tender details about the training-related business, not about their personal consultancy and they can provide a minimum of 10 Student/Professional Members per year to the AFSC® (or pay $98/yr for membership).
Corporate Member: Training Institutes (Feng Shui) are recommended by the AFSC® as the primary source of training for Accredited Feng Shui Consultants AFSC®. Attending courses provided by Corporate Member: Training Institutes (Feng Shui) awards the member 1 CPD Point per hour and 20 CPD Points per semester to help them maintain their status.
Corporate Member: Training Institutes (Feng Shui) are listed by name in the List of AFSC® Members and also under Education & Training, Corporate Member: Training Institutes on the AFSC® website.
Complementary Training Institute - An teaching organisation not offering Feng Shui training. This category is for any Training Institute, course provider or association offering complementary training to AFSC® Members (eg. studies in Psychology, Interior Design, Building, Building Biology, Architecture, Traditional Chinese Medicine, etc). Membership is subject to approval by the AFSC® Committee to ensure content is suitable for and applicable to Members.
This listing also includes other associations who may be complementary to Feng Shui (such as the Australian Society of Traditional Chinese Medicine, for instance).
Attending courses provided by Corporate Member: Training Institutes (Complementary) awards the Accredited Feng Shui Consultant® 0.5 CPD Points per hour and 10 CPD Points per semester to help them maintain their status.
Corporate Member: Training Institutes (Complementary) are listed by name in the List of AFSC® Members and also under Education & Training, Corporate Member: Training Institutes (Complementary) on the AFSC® website.
- Corporate Member: Corporation - There are Feng Shui Corporations formed by two or more consultants who work together on projects and consultations as a corporate entity.

For a Corporate Member: Corporation to qualify as a member of the AFSC®, every Feng Shui consultant in the corporation must be a Professional Member (or above) of the AFSC®. Corporate Member: Corporations are not officially voting members of the AFSC® (because each member of the corporation is already a voting member of the AFSC®) and do not have access to the Members Area.
Corporate Member: Corporations are listed by name in the List of AFSC® Members and also under Choose a Consultant, Corporate Member: Corporations on the AFSC®'s website.
- Corporate Member: Supplier - An organisation offering Feng Shui and related products to the industry.

Feng Shui Consultants require certain tools and products to work effectively in their business and provide additional products and services to their clients. Therefore Corporate Member: Suppliers are an important member of the AFSC®.
Corporate Member: Suppliers may join the AFSC® as a preferred product supplier of Feng Shui and related products, such as Luo Pans (the professional Feng Shui compass), Feng Shui products and cures, environmentally friendly products and any such products that the AFSC® deems are relevant and of service to our members. They are not officially voting members of the AFSC® and do not have access to the Members Area.
Corporate Member: Suppliers are listed by name on the List of AFSC® Members and also under Feng Shui, Corporate Member: Suppliers on the AFSC® website.
