The Committee

Members of the Committee are volunteers dedicated to maintaining the AFSC®'s position as a Premier Feng Shui Association. Committee Members may change during the course of a year.

Committee members are obliged to sign a non-circumvention and non-disclosure agreement to protect the information from members and the public which is shared amongst the Committee, during their role on the Committee now and into the future after tenure ceases.

All Committee Members who stay with us for 12 months receive Honorary Membership of the AFSC® for the following year and free attendance to AFSC® events during their tenure on the Committee.

Responsibilities: The President oversees decisions on behalf of the Committee and the AFSC, chairs meetings, oversees all aspects of running the Association, receives reports from Committee members, makes sure everyone is carrying out their job, resolves any problems within the Committee, and speaks on behalf of the Association. Non-routine jobs are delegated to Committee members.

Responsibilities: To be the President’s support system, be the first point of contact for Association matters, answer enquiries from our main email address and represent the President in all matters specified by the President. They are also responsible for organising the AFSC Annual Conference. To field enquiries that members, prospective members and the general public have regarding AFSC. Should the President not be available, they deputise for the President in their absenc

Responsibilities: To announce and record the minutes for all Committee Meetings. To issue Membership Certificates to new and renewing Professional and Accredited members. To file minutes of meetings, ensure their accuracy and availability, submit various reports to the Committee, fulfill any other requirements of a Committee Member, and perform other duties as the need arises. To organise meetings, elections and agendas, and to take minutes at each Committee Meeting.

Responsibilities: To keep records of all monetary transactions of the Association. To prepare annual financial statements and report to regulatory board annually. To pay accounts on behalf of the Association as necessary. To be signatory on the bank account, and to issue invoices as required by Members. To reconcile the accounts on a monthly basis, and present a report at every Committee Meeting. To manage the Membership payments in a timely fashion.

Responsibilities: To welcome and manage new and existing Associate, Student, Professional and Accredited Members. The be the final voice in approving all Membership Applications. To maintain Membership Renewals in a timely fashion, to actively seek out new Members and to manage expiring Members, and to liaise with the Treasurer and Education Co-ordinator whenever required to fulfill this role.

Responsibilities: To be a point of contact for all Corporate Member: Training Institutes. To review and approve all Training Institute applications and actively seek new members to become a recognised Training Institute. To oversee the Accreditation Programme as it relates to training of AFSC Members. To ensure a good mix of educational programmes are run at AFSC events.


Media, Marketing and Communications Manager - Apply for Position

Responsibilities: To maintain and keep social networking up to date and active, to market the Association, and communicate our Mission and Vision to the media and public. To ensure that the organisation maintains positive and productive relationships with media, educators, preferred suppliers, sponsors, and other organisations. To be in charge of publicity issues, including the newsletter and ensuring all AFSC publicity material is correct and valid. To form a Task Force to assist in their role.

Responsibilities: To be a point of contact for all Corporate Members: Suppliers and Corporations. To take care of the needs of our Corporate Members. To review and approve all Corporate applications and actively seek new members to become a Corporate Member.

To help foster a welcoming and supportive environment for a new member. Apart from these specific roles, it is important to attend each meeting, which occur at least three times per year. Everyone on the Committee is also responsible for liaising with the Members. This position is challenging, but also extremely rewarding.
